JoJo is looking for a visiting performance to Oulu Cathedral during spring 2026, with which JoJo has applied for the Art Testers for the season 2025-2026. If the performances are selected, there will be about 6-7 performances for 8th grade Art Testers in one week, two during the same day. The realisation of the performances including the final amount of them will be specified in February 2025.

The spring 2026 performances will be carried out in cooperation with the Oulu Cathedral Parish so that JoJo will produce a contemporary dance piece performed at the 1000-seat Oulu Cathedral. The church as a stage for the piece offers its art-rich and architecturally significant contribution, while the high-quality contemporary dance performance brings an element of movement to the environment.

The aim of the work is to offer young people high-quality dance art and to provide opportunities to see, understand and become interested in non-verbal performing arts. The work to be performed will be selected by JoJo´s Artistic Select Committee during January 2025 and its content will be art- based and non-confessional.

In connection with the Art Testers’ operating model, an audience outreach involving young people will be planned for the performances in accordance with the themes of the selected work. JoJo is responsible for producing and implementing the audience outreach with the working group.

Turku Cathedral turns 750 years old in 2026. The year of celebration is shared by the whole Church and is celebrated with the theme Education of the Heart since 1276- the celebration year of education, culture and public administration. One of the official partners of the celebration year is Art Testers. The work is also intended to become a national place to visit.

Please note that the work must be applicable to the church space. The space does not offer the usual stage technical possibilities, but there is daylight and the church´s own lighting during the performances. In terms of sound technology, the space has more diverse possibilities.

Please note the following when completing the form:
• JoJo is looking for already premiered guest performances.
• JoJo pays for travel and accommodation (according to the cheapest means of transport), so they do not need to be taken into account in the price offer. The offer must include all other costs (for example possible taxes connected to fee). Performance fees are paid in accordance with the collective agreement for the theatre sector.
• JoJo requires the visiting production to have also the necessary technical staff to perform.
