This is the flower of a Partisan, died for freedom.
A contemporary dance performance about humanity, inspired by the Italian folk song Bella Ciao.
Two dancers driven by their individual principles, two counterforces on a neverending cycle of breathing, being out of breath and reconfiguring. The duet takes influence from and comments on the world around us and today’s politics in an abstract context. Work-in-progress performances have been seen in different spaces, which all have influenced the atmosphere of Aliveness.

The song Bella Ciao was originally an Italian protest song against poor working conditions by women who worked in the rice fields. During the Second World War, the song became a theme song of the resistance fighters opposing the Fascist government of Benito Mussolini. In Italy and Spain, the song has been performed as a collective song on commemorative days of the defeat of fascism. The composer of the song and the author of the original lyrics are unknown.
