GO! is a game between two men, who meet and challenge each other through their own martial arts. With each new game, they learn to know each other, to control, to surpass each other. Each learns from the other, his strengths and limits, without being a winner or a loser. Your opponent has to be a partner who must be respected, if you want to continue to play.
GO! is at the crossroads of contemporary dance, martial arts and digital technology. In a choreography impregnated by the martial practice of the two dancers, these universes meet and mix to create a duet that combines humour, precision of gesture and beauty of movement, suitable for the whole family.

At the beginning, GO! was a research project. The initial idea was to bring together two friends, professional dancers who practice martial arts at a high level, in a dance studio and see what could happen in the human encounter, the exchange of their martial and artistic practices. Above all, I was curious and intrigued by the physicality of martial arts, the beauty of gesture, the energy and precision of movement, and how it could feed their own dance.
When the dancers met, something happened from the first day and they quickly developed a complicity through their arts (dance and martial) but also by gaming and joking until becoming friends in and out of the studio. This gradually led to the idea of transforming this research project into a creation for young audiences.
The choreography was created in close collaboration with the dancers, who, thanks to their martial skills, were able to enrich and nourish the dance movement through improvisation, which then came to a written choreography, for which Gilles Sornette composed the music and Nico Tremblay a digital set design using lights and video mapping.
