JoJo serves as a production centre and visiting theatre for those operating in the professional field of dance.
JoJo is involved in a large scale collaborative production of Leonard Bernstein‘s composition MASS with Oulu Symphony, Oulu2026 foundation and local arts education institutions. The multidisciplinary performance utilizes dance, music and theatre, and its ensemble consists of professional musicians, singers, dancers, dance pedagogy students and a children’s choir.
The production is calling for three (3) professional dancers with solid technical skills in contemporary and/or show dance (performing arts), as well as strong musicality and interpretation. Working experience in performing arts, ability to work communally in a large group and commitment to rehearsals and performance periods are required.
The dancers are employed for the duration of 2 Months (8 weeks) in March-April 2026. Rehearsals start on Monday 2.3.2026, 4h/day on weekdays, 5d/week. Weekly working hours 20h. Rehearsals are scheduled mainly during the daytime (10:00-16:00), but involve evening rehearsals preceding the performance period. When at performance venue Ouluhalli, dancers will be working also during evenings and weekends. 4 performances, both daytime and evening performances. The production concludes 22.4.2026.
Period of employment: 2 months (starting on 2.3.2026)
Salary: 2640,32€/month, vacation compensation 12 %
The contract adheres to the theatre field’s collective labour agreement.
Auditions are held on Tuesday 10.6.2025 at 12-15 in Culture Centre Valve (Hallituskatu 7), Dance Studio 2.
Dancers are selected to the audition based on applications. All applicants will receive information on the selections. Selected dancers will receive instructions on the contents of the audition and an advance assignment.
Applications are to include a motivation letter and a CV including a picture.
